Self-Employment

You may want to create your own job by becoming self-employed. Is there something that you really enjoy doing and think you could earn your living from? Often people turn hobbies or interests into a business, for example gardening (providing a gardening service), cooking (starting your own catering business) driving (delivery service, wedding cars).

Being self-employed usually means 'being the boss' - you're in charge! This does not mean that your working day will be any easier than if you are working for someone else. You are likely to have to work very hard (and sometimes very long hours) if you want to make a success of your business.
